Product Development Engineer

ProAir Systems is an Irish owned company.  It is Ireland’s only manufacturer and industry leading specialist of Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) systems.  Due to continuing expansion in the ventilation business, we now wish to recruit a committed individual to join the R & D team.  The successful candidate will be based in the Head Office in Galway under the direction of the CTO. (S)he will work with the Sales, Design & Installation teams supporting the delivery of improved and innovative products and services to new and existing customers.  (S)he will be hard working, ambitious, proactive and a quick learner. Be innovative in their thinking.

Key Roles & Responsibilities include but will not be restricted to:

  • Work with the CTO to improve efficiency of systems.
  • Source and test components, subsystems etc in laboratory and site settings.
  • Develop robust, cost-effective designs of components and assemblies.
  • Support various departments with analysis, root cause analysis, and technical support.
  • Create and maintain the relevant documents to support design controls, compliance, and regulatory requirements!
  • Generation of datasheets
  • Establish & maintain quality standards for all production operatives.
  • Advocate for continuous improvement in processes and systems.

Education and Experience:

  • Level 8 qualification in Mechanical / Energy Engineering or higher or equivalent.
  • Knowledge and experience in designing Mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of ventilation technology would be a distinct advantage.
  • Have the capacity to multi-task effectively.
  • Be highly computer literate. Competent user of 3D Modelling.
  • An aptitude for hands-on working and problem solving.
  • Good organizational skills and an ability to manage his/her time resources and competing priorities.
  • Team player with leadership capabilities in a collaborative environment.
  • Clean driving licence.
