About ProAir – Irish Manufacturer of MVHR Systems
OUR HISTORY
ProAir is an Irish‑owned company founded in 1995 by Galway native David McHugh in a small office and workshop in Cummer, Co. Galway. The business began with a focus on ventilation service. In the early nineties, customers were asking for better ventilation solutions – heat recovery ventilation was the obvious answer. That demand led to the development of the ProAir range we know today.
Key Milestones
2004 – The first ProAir units were manufactured from moulded plastic and installed in customers’ homes. This unit became known as the PA600.
2005 – The PA300 was developed for smaller installations.
2011 / 2012 – Units were upgraded using expanded polyethylene, a highly insulating, sound‑resistant, strong, and workable material.
2016 – The PA600 PLI achieved Passivhaus certification after extensive testing.
2018 – Production of the 5,000th MVHR unit took place at our new Castlegar facility, alongside the launch of the newly remodelled PA600LI.

MESSAGE FROM OUR CEO, DAVID MCHUGH
End‑to‑End Service – We Service What We Sell
Because of our background in the service industry, we have a deep understanding of our customers’ needs – whether they are homeowners, builders, or developers.
What This Means for You
For homeowners – Your MVHR system will work away silently in the background, keeping you healthy and comfortable in your ultra‑low‑energy home.
For builders and developers – Your clients will understand and appreciate the valuable system you have provided. With the ProAir after‑sales process in place, you never need to expect a complaint related to the indoor environment.
The ProAir Difference
Every system is:
Specifically designed for the application
Professionally installed
Diligently maintained
It is this end‑to‑end service that makes ProAir unique among manufacturers.
Looking Ahead
Our intention is to maintain this level of customer focus as we grow, expanding the large circle of friends (customers) we already have throughout Ireland, the UK, and Europe.
